How to: Link text on a worksheet to a chart title.
Solution:
Insert a chart title text box on the chart and type the reference to the worksheet cell that contains the text.
1) Select the desired chart.
a) If the chart is embedded on the worksheet, double-click on the chart. (A striped border with handles appears around the chart.)
b) If the chart is on a separate chart sheet, click the tab for the chart sheet.
2) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Titles'. (The Titles dialog box appears.)
3) Select the 'Chart Title' check box in the 'Attach Text to' group.

4) Click 'OK'. (A text box with the word TITLE appears on the chart.)
5) With the text box selected, type '=' (the equal sign) in the formula bar, followed by the reference to the worksheet cell that contains the desired text.
EXAMPLE: =SHEET3!$D$2
6) Press ENTER. (The text appears on the text box in the chart.)
NOTE: Any changes made to text on the worksheet cell are reflected automatically in the chart title.
